Acne *Does* Matter: Struggling with Adult Acne

Most of us go ballistic upon the sight of a simple blemish or acne, and is very conscious on monitoring the condition of our skin and calls for prompt treatment when something seems to be very wrong. Worrying too much on severe cases of acne and other related skin conditions push us to over treat and pamper this disease. Getting an over the counter drug, taking someone?s advice or using acne products seen on ads and TV commercials may lead you to bigger mistakes on caring for it.

The typical onset of acne in adults is related to the increased activity of the glands, mainly involving the sebaceous glands or the oil glands. When the skin follicles or pores are clogged with oils and keratins which are normally secreted by the sebaceous, or when there are excessive oils secreted that they are being jam packed into the ducts, skin blemishes are formed and are characterized as adult acne.

When acne strikes badly in the puberty stage, they can even get worst and developed to adult acne to some extent when one reaches the adolescence stage. Although both men and women are victims of the skin culprit, boys are more prone to develop severe acne to adult acne. Rosacea or adult acne is a familiar skin disorder which is characterized by the swelling and redness of the face. Although science have not found the perfect cure for adult acne, it can be lessen and controlled with the right kind of treatment. More often than not, adult acne grows and develops for a long span of time. And in between the process of treatment and medication, adult acne may reoccur in the age of 30s, 40s and beyond. In the United States, studies have shown that a huge 13.5 Million men and women are experiencing the discomfort of depression and social anxiety upon struggling against Rosacea or adult acne.

You may start to wonder what the contributing factors that causes adult acne are. Adult acne can be caused by having a frequent contact with oily substances like vegetable oil, mineral oil, and petroleum (a well known causative agent of acne). These oily substances are commonly used and contained in certain steroids and other products or medication.

On the other hand, adult acne is time and again, caused by the secretion of androgens. Adult acne takes place after the onset of puberty where androgens are initially secreted. When one sets foot on the adolescence stage, one begins to secrete sex hormones, which then becomes the cause of adult acne. Although androgens are referred to as male sex hormones, female secretes them too. But not as much quantity of androgen as that of the male, making adult acne more prone to them. Other contributing factors to adult acne are traced due to one?s lack of healthy dietary habits and body exercise.

Don’t let a simple blemish lead to serious adult acne that will leave you with scars. Adult acne is not just a plain physical problem. For some, it affects not only the emotional side, but also the total aspect of life itself. Why not start an acne treatment right away?
